"What year are you actually preparing your students for?" -Heidi Hayes Jacobs
We live in a global society. Access to all parts of the world are at our fingertips. We need to be mindful and prepare our students to be successful when they leave our classrooms. Infusing our curriculum with 4 Global Competencies can help.
This global education guide website was created as part of the Teachers for Global Classrooms program I participated in during the 2016-2017 school year. Here you will see how we can connect our curriculum to a global audience, how we can teach students from all over the world, and how we can impact our local community. Global education is a never ending journey and I hope this site will help inspire you on yours. My journey last year consisted of a year of professional development in global education. I hope this site provides you with some PD you desire as well.
To look further into global education, check out this presentation I made for the TGC program.
Perry Township Schools is a great place to see students from all over the world. Our curriculum can and should reflect this diversity. We don't have to discard what we already are required to teach. What we can do, however, is better prepare our students for the world they will live in.
